Feleshia Johnson is a Bahamian children’s book author whose warm, faith-centered stories encourage young readers to discover courage, accept responsibility, and trust God when they feel uncertain.

A lifelong reader, Feleshia loved writing from the time she was a child. However, she never seriously pursued becoming an author because she believed she had no story to tell and no audience waiting to hear it. For years, she ran from the idea—much like Rabbit, the reluctant hero of her debut Christian children’s book, You’ve Got the Wrong Guy.

Eventually, Feleshia realized that God had given her both a story and a purpose. That realization inspired her to begin writing for children and to use storytelling to share meaningful lessons about faith, friendship, obedience, forgiveness, and doing what is right.

About You’ve Got the Wrong Guy

Written for children ages 7–10, You’ve Got the Wrong Guy (available in paperback and eBook on Amazon) is a lively Christian adventure filled with humor, danger, memorable animal characters, and an important message about courage.

After a fire destroys their home in Hebron National Forest, a group of animals sets out in search of a better life—despite warnings from Rabbit and the wise Chester Owl. When the animals are captured, Rabbit is chosen to rescue them. There is only one problem: Rabbit does not want the responsibility.

Convinced that the others caused their own trouble by refusing to listen, Rabbit insists that their predicament is not his problem. Yet, as his friends face danger, he must decide whether to continue running away or trust God and accept a task for which he feels completely unqualified.

Inspired by the biblical account of Moses and his reluctance to lead, You’ve Got the Wrong Guy reminds children that courage does not mean never feeling afraid. Sometimes courage means trusting God, stepping forward, and doing what is right—even when you feel like the wrong person for the job.

Feleshia has worked in the insurance profession for decades and is the mother of an adult daughter. When she is not working or writing, she enjoys cooking and reading mystery novels.
