Why should I be a part of a directory?

It's to your advantage to be listed on as many reputable sites as possible. Search Engines love it and people searching the internet to find you or locate your books are glad to make the connection.

Isn't it enough to just have my books sold by an online seller?

It's great to have your books sold online but you should help to direct potential readers to them. We will link your titles to the sales link. If you deem your content valuable, then you should try to get it into as many hands as possible. By listing in this directory you are linking arms with others in the region and making yourself available for people interested in reading materials from the great authors of the West Indies or the Caribbean region.

How can listing my books on this directory help me with selling my books if I don't sell online?

It's even more reason to be listed on the directory as your personal author's page can share your bio, author's pic, book mockups, and books and give a listing of where your books can be found, whether from you or from brick and mortar stores. Bookstores love to know that you are doing your part to promote your book(s) and not just dropping them off to them.

Can I place my personal contact information on my Author's Page?

We do not recommend placing personal contact information on your page. To avoid receiving an onslaught of unrelated spam, you can use an email that you have dedicated to your books or business.

Do you accept all genres in your Directory?

We accept books we deem family-friendly. That means the books should be free of profanity, erotica, sexually explicit, horror, murder, blood & gore, promotion of unhealthy lifestyles, witchcraft, occult practices, slander, etc.

Who do you accept books & writings from, for featuring on the site?

We accept the writings and books from residents of or people who are from the West Indies.

Is there a cost to feature my short story/poetry/skit on this site?

No, there is no cost.

Why is it free to feature my stories etc.?

It is a private/public service of sorts. We believe that by coming together there is strength. It is an opportunity to showcase our writings to readers to build a following, or at the least, give potential customers a preview of what our talented authors have to offer.

We also want to celebrate the young writers of the region. They are doing a great job and can be an inspiration to others.

Is there a fee to be listed as an author?

Yes, there is a minimal fee. Our author page helps to give published authors a footprint in the search engines. Authors can also be featured on the home page. You can, however, have a poem or story page as an author, free of charge.

I'm not comfortable promoting my books, is there a way for me to get exposure without being in front of a camera or talking?

You can start with an author's page on this site which can be linked to your blog, website, or social media page. We can also provide you with author infographics to use on social media.

Can schools or teachers have their student's writings featured on the site?

We welcome the writings of students. However, anyone under the age of 18 must have the written approval of a parent/guardian to do so. See requirements here.
